The NKCA, est in 1972, and the National Knife Museum are total separate entities, each with its own staff, tax identification numbers, accounts, etc., but one would not exist without the other. The members of the NKCA donated knives, raised funds, and constructed the original National Knife Museum back in 1981. The NKCA has a paid operating staff of two full time employees and the NKM has a staff of two employees plus one volunteer curator. The NKCA & the NKM have an elected Board of Directors, which act as Officers and Directors for both organizations.
